After being slaves for more than 400 years in Egypt and
wandering around the wilderness for a further 40 years, the children of Israel
finally arrived at the Promised Land of Canaan, their inheritance.
Now at the age of 85, Caleb, a man of faith and courage, approached
Joshua, the current leader of Israel. Caleb wanted to ensure he had an
inheritance for his family, and asked to be given the mountains of Hebron so
that he could conquer them and claim them for his descendants. (Joshua 14:12-13)
These mountains were inhabited by giants. God has
assigned each of us a mountain to conquer for Him.
